I would have to say the BowGish is a good build. SwB 10 gives you that 50% displacement, move speed, with your AA and EA damage and AB you dont miss. Great build Dordon.

I've been happy with my Wiz(5), Swiftblade(10), AA(10), Elemental Archer(5) so far (though he's not level 30 yet).

Also has a 27 BAB, can cast 6th level spells with a CL of 15 including practice spell caster.

Feats under level 20 are: dodge, mobility, weapon focus, point black shot, rapid shot, many shot, improved rapid shot.

I like this build - doesn't use Kaedrin's pack (unless you substitute avenger for assassin):
NWN2 Wiki Drow Sniper

F(12), W(1), AA(9), Asn(8)

27 BAB, HiPS, +5 arrows, 5% chance of stun (cause let's face it the DC for Death attack stinks)

I have played this build in a couple of PWs with good success. The Manyshot feat is quite powerful. I like to do a variant with 28 DEX and One shot (although this feat comes late so it doesn't help too much with leveling). One shot is mildly useful against the crit immune, and the extra DEX is helpful.

I have been playing around with archer builds using elemental archer and genasi, but the inability of Genasi to take the arcane archer class (why do elves have a monopoly on magic arrows?) has frustrated these builds relative to the Drow Sniper above.

Here is a str based version.

Bard 8/Caenith Lyrist 10/Favored soul 10/rogue 2

aasimar:

str 17 + 7 +2
dex 12
con 12
int 13
wis 10
cha 16

1 favored soul — knockdown
2 bard
3 favored soul— blind fight
4 bard
5 favored soul
6 bard — extend spell
7 favored soul
8 rogue
9 rogue — improved knockdown
10 bard
11 Caenith lyrist *Advance Divine Spellcasting*
12 Caenith lyrist — lingering song
13 Caenith lyrist
14 Caenith lyrist
15 Caenith lyrist — curse song
16 Caenith lyrist
17 Caenith lyrist
18 Caenith lyrist — persistent spell
19 Caenith lyrist
20 Caenith lyrist
21 favored soul — epic prowess
22 bard
23 favored soul — song of the heart
24 bard
25 favored soul — great str
26 bard
27 favored soul — great str
28 bard
29 favored soul —quicken spell
30 favored soul

This build has +1 ab over the dex version I posted thanks to prowess making the cut. A wood elf version would also be possible that could manage another +1 but at the cost of other important stats like con.

generally speaking both of these builds are pve oriented as listed, though slight modifications would make them viable for pvp. The str version has more potential in this area simply because it has the feats to spare to add stuff like skill focus and alertness.

It should also be noted, the str version can also grab cleric for evasion and blind fight, and then pick up another bard or fs lvl. adding a bard lvl would grant another 3rd lvl spell per day and ironskin chant, another fs lvl just adds that one last caster lvl, which, combined with practiced spellcaster, hits the magic 25 caster lvls to be essentially immune to greater dispel magic.

The shadowsoul lyrist is a multipurpose character. Equal parts healer, hipser, and bard, with an ocean of offensive buff spells, this character has a little bit of something for every conceivable foe he may face.

Bard 8/Caenith Lyrist 10/Favored soul 10/shadowdancer 2

yuan-ti pureblood

str 11
dex 19 +7
con 12
int 12
wis 10
cha 16

1 favored soul — dodge
2 bard
3 favored soul— weapon finnesse
4 bard
5 favored soul
6 bard — Mobility
7 favored soul
8 Shadow dancer
9 Shadow Dancer — two weapon fighting
10 bard
11 Caenith lyrist *Advance Divine Spellcasting*
12 Caenith lyrist — Improved two weapon fighting
13 Caenith lyrist
14 Caenith lyrist
15 Caenith lyrist — greater two weapon fighting
16 Caenith lyrist
17 Caenith lyrist
18 Caenith lyrist — lingering song
19 Caenith lyrist
20 Caenith lyrist
21 favored soul — extend spell
22 bard
23 favored soul — persistent spell
24 bard
25 favored soul — perfect 2 weapon fighting
26 bard
27 favored soul — curse song
28 bard
29 favored soul —quicken spell *or* stealthy
30 favored soul

On the lvl 29 feat choice: if you choose least, lesser, and regular spell mantle, you can then quicken least and lesser 12 times per day, and have over 30+ total mantles per day available. This makes you very mage resistant: you can actually get into a mantle/breach battle and live to tell the tale. If you don't care about fighting enemy mages, then stealthy is a good way to boost up your hide/ms that is otherwise lacking in this build.

Skills:

fs lvl 1 = 12
9 fs lvls +1 int = 27
20 lvls of other classes +1 int = 140

179 total skill points

Diplomacy 7
Lore 7
sleight of hand 7
Perform 31
hide 33
move silent 33
tumble 20
concentration 31
spellcraft 10

Ac

Bab 24

Ab:

naked:
26 dex = +8
bab 24
Dieties weapon focus: +1
33.

Self Buffed:

33 naked ab
3 divine favor
1 bless
1 aid
1 prayer
3 recitation
2 battletide
6 divine power addtl bab
5 greater magic weapon
-2 2wf penalty

total: 53

Most settings will have at least potions of cats grace available bringing the total to 55, which is respectable, especially with 14 attacks per round!

Add in the curse song malus, which makes the effective ab 58 or 60 with a cats grace potion.

Pros:

- Full lvl 20 divine spellcaster.
- Bard songs and inspirations as a lvl 18 bard granting:
- legionnaires march
- +4 ac or +3 regen or +4 skills or +3 ac or inspire jarring or inspire slowing.
- song of heroism for +4 ac 10 rounds, usable once per 5 minutes
- Maxed out Curse song with:

-2 to Attack rolls.

-3 to Damage rolls.

-3 to Will saves.

-2 to Fortitude saves.

-2 to Reflex saves.

-6 to Skill rolls.

24 damage.

-5 to Dodge Armor Class

Cons:

- Heavily feat starved: I couldn't fit stealthy and 2 skill focuses in there for hide and ms, so this build is only an average hipser.
- ac is sub optimal, so the build is reliant upon fs buffs in order to survive.
- Damage output is sub optimal, relies on elemental damage from spells and a lot of attacks per round for damage: highly damage resistant enemies are a problem.
- heavily buff reliant.

Note: the build as stated relies on a +3 or greater cha item to cast lvl 9 spells. This can, of coarse, be modified. I would probably also add 2 more points of int in the build, depending on the mod: use magic device is often too good to pass up!

Another variant would be 12 fs/8 bard/8 CL/2 sd This would net you weapon specialization at the cost of legionnaires march.

This build is similar to one of my builds. My variant uses Paladin instead of fighter. I use Aasimar to avoid the ecl penalty.

My variant loses a couple of feats compared to this build, but has better saves. I also take divine might and divine shield to take advantage of my CHA focus. I think either variant should be fun to play. I love the speed with which the swiftblade moves.

Wildshapers still aren't "right" and trying to get it right is probably not worth the migraines. There are some forms without speech from what I remember but I'd have to check on them before I turned them on. It's a slight tweak in the code honestly. Not something I'll do till after SoZ though.

Kaedrin, as far as I can tell there is no limitations on what spells can be cast while polymorphed. It just depends on the form - whether or not it actually has a mouth and everything needed for the Somatic components..
Also, it says if they retain their humanoid shape, equipment bonuses are retained - that is probably the more significant feature imo (and probably the harder to implement after the amount of work it ended up taking for the Wildshapers).

Did you still get to keep Epic resilience and at least one level of regen?

and K could you also change out Mind Flayer for some other monster in polymorph? Without the ability to use mind flayer abilities or disguise its kinda the worst of the lot right now.

IIRC there might have been a bug with spellcasting in wildshapes. Without having natural spell feat you could select the spells from the NW eye icon and bring up your memorised spells and cast them normally. I dont know if thats been fixed, its been a little while since i played a druid shifter. It would probably work as a transformed mage.

Back to the build :-

I did a little playing around with the classes, Fighter 8 Anointed knight 8 Defender 10 Divine champion 4. That comes out with some good abilities. It loses the divine champions wrath and extra bonus to saves. Gains spell resistance and epic weapon focus. It still keeps all the Damage resistance 15 + rescue. 700 hp in def stance.

Nice to have in a party. Good solid build : )
