First of all, a big THANK YOU to Kaedrin for all your hard work. I love the extra content for NWN 2, and I can't wait for the 1.39 update! (coming soon I hope!)

Quick question about the new Ninja base class: will the character model's default outfit be some sort of ninja uniform? Or something else? As far as I can tell, there aren't currently ninja-like clothes either in the OC, expansions or in the NWN Vault.

Thanks again! :)

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: 1.39 release

The shared feats required for Daggerspell shaper and invisible blade would lead to some interesting builds. I dont know how far into the workings you are for this class. Would bleeding wounds work from a sneak thrown daggercast?
Or is it strange ranged touch magics thats impossible to tie in with the dagger damage, bleeding wounds probably only works when you actually hit with a light weapon.
The description from the wiki says - Bleeding WoundAt 1st level, when an Invisible Blade hits with a successful sneak attack, he inflicts a bleeding wound that deals 2 points of damage per round for 3 rounds. This damage stacks with previous damage caused by a Bleeding Wound attack. He must be either unarmored or wielding only light weapons in order to inflict a Bleeding Wound. At 3rd level, the damage increases to 4 per round, and at 5th level, it increases to 6 points per round. Each level of Bleeding Wound counts as one die of sneak attack damage for purposes of class and feat prerequisites.

Regardless of the class prerequisites, an Invisible Blade can use any light weapon to cause a bleeding wound (i.e. a handaxe or shortsword can be used, but not a rapier).

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: 1.39 release

Looking on the possible list of future classes i see the Nightcloak PRC.
One of the features is - Disc of Night: Any chakram wielded by the Nightcloak gains the +2 Returning property (attack routine done by using the feat, firing off a vfx every second)
New weapon needed: Chakram (may your inner Xena YIYIYIYIYIYI)

So the only possible way of having returning weapons in the style of infinite stacks is to have custom feat + custom weapon + custom vfx?
Sounds like a lot of work for a minority of people who would play this style of character.

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: Enchanting Ranged/Thrown Weapons

That has always been the pain of using throwing weapons. When the stack runs out your character charges towards the enemy attempting to punch them to death. Its almost as if you are juggling the hotkeys the same as you would be all these axes, darts and shurikens! Slings or bows are the only ways to make a good archer. I think its to stop Halfling Ranger axe chucker stormlords ruling the world :P

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: Enchanting Ranged/Thrown Weapons

I spent a few hours trying squeeze blood from stone and was unable to get areas to load up from the override. In point of fact, the only way to "dynamically" add areas to a module is to alter the module file itself (either by opening it with the toolset or using code to alter it on the fly like I do 2da's and blueprints).

Thus ends my dreams of being able to drop new areas into SoZ (or any module/campaign/PW) on the fly. Given the fact that editing the official modules will break patches its a dead horse topic for me now. :(

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: On a tangent topic

Memory loss just isn't possible within this game (or I don't think so) but you could simulate that with confusion or charm. You'd need to make a special type of arrows with an effect no damage & and effect confused or effect sleep. Both since they're different. The problem with this is you'll have to either spawn them into the game via console or go into the mods and add them into stores.

look at the properties of the blueprint you're using. On the first page there is a line for DR. You can use that instead of adding class feats. There's a spell abilities tab close to the end. As for editing feats, you can't. All you can do is make new ones, and they will need a spell id regardless of type. Kaedrin has all kinds of feats you can look at to get a feel of what you want to do. Loki has pixie familiars in his pack. Try looking at that to get a feel of the fly speed and all that.

I'd rather not continue this on Kaedrin's forums. If you have more questions, create a thread on the official nwn2 forums.

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: feat editing

Which is all well and good, but i cant find any of the files that the game uses normally.
Are all of the .nss feats that the game uses hidden or in another format or something?

Anyone, if anyone is interested, i posted a combined races of faerun and kaedrins prc pack + faeries to the nwn2 vault. As you know i had some issues with making the faeries the same as DnD, but whatever - if i can sometime figure it out ill update it.

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: feat editing

First of all, sorry I don't know anything about creating new feats :p

Secondly, why do you guys care what modifications the OP wants to make?

Thirdly, how is that build overpowered Soranar? Your WIS and DEX AC bonuses do not even counter the loss you get from not being able to wear armor, and then there's the shield. That AC is not insane, if anything it is sub par. Just compare it to a CL 9/SL 10/brd 1/ RDD 10 for example (wielding a shield and spear with monkey grip). Plus you have a lousy 23 BAB. And btw casters are very strong. If you pit that build against a good caster build I would put a lot of money on the caster.

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: feat editing

uh huh, didnt say it couldnt get powerful - its just the same thing as prestige multiclassing.
For example:
5 wiz
10 swiftblade
7 Ek
8 whirling dervish
gets you Ptwf, epic dodge, 50% concealment, level 9 spell casting, 25 BaB etc etc…is it ridiculously overpowered? yea…do i care? not really - if i wanted it to be balanced i wouldnt allow prestige classes. But no, we dont really care about balance - we care about having fun, and so we allow prestige classes. Its rather hypocritical to frown upon race use when its just accomplishing the same thing as prestige classes.

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: feat editing

yeah right , balanced…

let's see how overpowered I can make one…

casting is subpar since having more levels is better than stats most of the time (and you only use the one stat anyway)

anything that uses plenty of stats will be happy though so monk builds, EDM builds and champion of the wild builds, you can't get BAB 26 without playing only full BAB classes though but that means not using monk

a monk combo feels right for AC purposes
throw in Paladin or blackguard for the saves
RDD for strength and more stats
so

1 sorcerer
11 Monk
10 RDD
4 BG

Level 26, insane AC, saves, EDM, maximum possible SR, wielding a kama in two- handed and you even get true strike
feat
1 sorcerer luck
2 monk
3 monk weapon focus kama
4 monk
5 monk
6 RDD power attack
7 RDD
8 RDD
9 RDD cleave
10 BG
11 BG
12 BG divine might
13 RDD
14 RDD
15 RDD divine shield
16 RDD
17 RDD
18 RDD anything
19 Monk
20 Monk
21 Monk EDM
22 Monk
23 Monk GREAT STR
24 Monk
25 Monk anything
26 Monk
base picks final
STR 4 11 26
DEX 16 22 22
CON 8 14 16
INT 14 14 16
WIS 12 18 18
CHA 14 20 22

base AC is + 10 (6 dex , 4 wis) +1 from luck

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: feat editing

I was wondering what program i would need in order to edit feats as well as where i might find said feats to edit them.
I was looking at the 2da files using a tlkeditor i found on nwn2vault but it seems like as though these are merely a listing or a linkage between usages rather than the feat in of itself.
As for why - i want to implement pixes as per DnD rules, So far ive gotten this done:
–4 Strength, +8 Dexterity, +6 Intelligence, +4 Wisdom, +6 Charisma.
Small size. +1 bonus to Armor Class, +1 bonus on attack rolls, +4 bonus on Hide checks, –4 penalty on grapple checks, lifting and carrying limits 3/4 those of Medium characters.
Low-light vision.
Skills: Pixies have a +2 racial bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks.
Racial Feats: A pixie receives Dodge as a bonus feat.
+1 natural armor bonus.
Favored Class: Sorcerer.
Level adjustment +4

Now as for what i dont know how to do:
Special Attacks: Spell-like abilities.
*special Arrows (Ex): Pixies sometimes employ arrows that deal no damage but can erase memory or put a creature to sleep.

Memory Loss: An opponent struck by this arrow must succeed on a DC 15 Will save or lose all memory. The save DC is Charisma-based and includes a +2 racial bonus. The subject retains skills, languages, and class abilities but forgets everything else until he or she receives a heal spell or memory restoration with limited wish, wish, or miracle.

Sleep: Any opponent struck by this arrow, regardless of Hit Dice, must succeed on a DC 15 Fortitude save or be affected as though by a sleep spell. The save DC is Charisma-based and includes a +2 racial bonus.

A pixie’s base land speed is 20 feet. It also has a fly speed of 60 feet (good).
*I can edit the speed, but i dont know how to edit it for them to have a different land speed vs air speed.

Special Qualities: Damage reduction 10/cold iron, greater invisibility, spell resistance equal to 15 + class levels.
*I gave them 5/cold iron since i found a warlock feat for that, but i need to make my own feat for 10/cold iron, spell resistance i gave them the drow 11+level for the same reason. Not sure how to add spell like 1/day racials yet either.

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: feat editing

Interesting discussion…
But just going for AC or AB does not a good build make.
Lets take for example…A swarm of moderately powerful rats attacking a level 30 character.
Rats average damage is say 20 with 2 attacks per round, your surrounded and so lets say at any given point in time 15 rats are attacking. Thats 30 attacks per round 5% of which will hit your character even if you had 100000 AC. There are a couple of ways to defend against this.
1) get DR
2) get epic dodge
3) get concealment
4) get mirror image
Now Lets say you get epic dodge and concealment…50% of the attacks fail so instead of 1.5 ave in a round you get .75 which is then easily mitigated by epic dodge removing 1 attack per round.
So, For a build to get Epic dodge + concealment + mirror image + DR + high AC would make that build a true tank which could only be hit if you up the stakes and say give the rats more attacks per round.
How to you get this?
How about:
5 wiz
10 swiftblade
8 whirling dirvish
7 eldrich knight
youll have BaB of 2 + 10 + 8 + 7 or 27 BaB so 14 attacks per round each dealing 2d6 extra dmg from max swiftblade. So now all you need to do is pick a race that has a dex/int bonus as well as martial weapon racial. So planetouched and elves work, but if you wanted to you could just as easily go for a giant like the firbolg or something.
A variation on this build is to switch out EK for tempest to get 2 ab 3 ac and whirlwind attack but you will lose out on full arcane caster progression if this is done.

Forum category: Forum discussion / Character Builds
Forum thread: Just an idea, pTWF dps machine with tank AC

I haven't felt like trying to write my own version of the knockdown rules due to how difficult it is to get all of the needed information (especially the size stuff) as well as a normal attack roll routine. I know the latter has been done for the Tome of Battle mod. It's largely a matter of excessive time and testing work to add a few token feats. The AC booster feats for shields are NOT needed given the magic level of most PWs/the campaigns that use my content. There's just not much worth in the shield area. They already perform their function quite well.

Forum category: Forum discussion / Custom Content
Forum thread: A Few Feat Suggestions
