The spell magic missile is an iconic one, a favored staple of many arcane spellcasters and an example of raw magical force. Thus it is no wonder that a cabal of arcane spellcasters focuses their studies on this spell, determined to perfect its casting technique above all others. The outcome of such focused study results in the ability to warp the magical energies involved in casting magic missile, which leads to the creation of new abilities that augment the spell's effects. These inspired spellcasters are known as force mages.

A character can achieve a maximum of 5 levels in the Force Mage prestige class.

<b>Class:</b> Level 3 Sorcerer or Wizard.
<b>Skills:</b> 5 Spellcraft.
<b>Special:</b> May not have any levels in Eldritch Knight

- <b>Hit Die:</b> d6
- <b>Base Attack Bonus:</b> Low.
- <b>High Saves:</b> Fort, Will.
- <b>Weapon Proficiencies:</b> None.
- <b>Armor Proficiencies:</b> None.
- <b>Skill Points:</b> 2 + Int modifier.
- <b>Class Skills:</b> Concentration, Craft Weapon, Craft Armor, Craft Trap, Craft Alchemy, Lore, and Spellcraft.

- <b>Class Abilities:</b>

<b>Spells per Day/Spells Known:</b> At each level, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level and spells known as if you had also attained a level in sorcerer. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained such as bonus feats.

<b>Force Protection:</b> You gain an additional +1 bonus from the Shield spell at levels 1, 3, and 5.

<b>Force Missiles:</b> You may cast the magic missile spell at will as though it were a reserve feat. Each use launches one missile per class level which deal 3d4+3 damage. Your Force Missiles ability will strip the shield spell from your target. When you have 5 levels of Force Mage, each missile will deal 15 damage as though maximized.

<b>Force Mastery:</b> When casting the magic missile spell, you gain a bonus on the number of missiles equal to your Force Mage level. Any missiles that exceed the count of 5 double the damage of one of your missiles on a one for one basis. For example, a level 9 caster with 4 levels of Force Mage will case a Magic Missile spell that fires 5 missiles, four of which deal double damage. Your Magic Missile spell will now strip the Shield spell from your target. In addition, if you have 5 levels of Force Mage, your Magic Missile spell will automatically be maximized. Orb of Force will automatically be empowered at level 5.
