What's all this about overpowered I've been hearing lately? We went through the books months ago, and again recently, to whittle down the classes to a core set that is broad, and a number of other qualities, and now there is all this mention of overpowered being dropped here and there. And, it's said to come from some PW(s).
I play PWs almost exclusively and I think it's important to include them in the target audience. But, PWs are a motley bunch. There is no way to make them all happy. Plus SPers are a major constituent too and they are another pile of opinions.
Whatever happened to just turning an offending class or feat off, or not choosing it, on one's own machine and letting everybody else make their own choices?
If some standard of power is the new criteria after so many classes were implemented or scheduled what does that do for the K Pack as a package? As it stands, the weaker classes are still waiting for their PrCs. Are they to remain weak because of this new standard?
Even simple content like Eldritch Glaive is on eternal hold because some unknown complainers say it's overpowered. They're entitled to their opinion, but, we all have to live with it? We don't even get the chance to set the power level of it to our individual taste?
Not only is it unfair, but, it's incredibly unfair. We've all seen these arguments about overpowered and many of them are just fantastic. This is overpowered because everybody will play it. Well, good for everybody. Maybe they're having fun. Or, no one will play fighters if that class comes out. Well, good for fighters, maybe they're boring. As least, when I call the fighter class boring, it's obvious that that's just my opinion. No one has to live with it.
There is no standard for overpowered. I could just as easily argue that save or die is overpowered. That they should be replaced with some damage dice and a save for half because that is fair to the opponent. It's just my opinion, but, nobody has to live with it.
